Review of Liberty Plus Mosquito Magnet® Insect Trap

Yes, the product kills mosquitoes... while it works. I bought the Liberty Plus and was pleased with its results for two years. In the third year it did not recharge the battery as well, did not catch mosquitoes as well. I contacted the company for service and was directed to a third party who suggested I bought a Mosquito Killing System supposedly for being more reliable. Even though we need those machines here in Louisiana (believe me), I have not had the courage to spend that amount of money yet again... not after being burnt out with the Mosquito Magnet. When you compute the high cost of the machine, propane tanks, octenol, net replacements you can almost give a price tag per mosquito killed during the life time of those unreliable machines. If you have that kind of money to throw out of the window, go ahead and buy it: it works while it lasts.

I own this mitt and I have been very pleased with it.I got it six months ago, and it has held up excellently through washings and rough treatment!I have not once been burned through it, and it is easy to use even when wet.The little hanger that is attached to it has also not broken, which is unusual for my pot holders-- we cook a lot and they get constant use and abuse.
The only reason I am giving it only four stars is because it is too small for my fiance's hand to fit smoothly in through the wrist area.He does have large hands, but so do a lot of tall men, and they need pot holders too!In addition, I have trouble bending the pot holder when I want to pick up something small.The plastic is just a tad thick for that.

As there is no edge on the product, it is extremely easy to end up on the wall. Wherever my kids can reach it, there are, right next to the edge, dry-erase marker marks on the wall- which, unfortunately, do not dry erase.

I admit, I am not a top chef by any stretch of the imagination.Until very recently, I abhorred cooking.I just started doing it to eat healthier and to have something to take up my time.I am still learning--a lot--about this art.I do refer to this wonderful chart throughout the week, if not daily, mostly for conversions.It has more than that though.It has freezer lifespans for different meats, cooking times for basic foods... you really have to get it if you cook on a regular basis at all.
It is a huge magnet, it takes up about a third of my freezer door, if not more, but the amount of information they pack into that space is phenomenal.I really can't recommend it enough.$12 well spent, in my opinion.

My first complaint is that the telescoping handle doesn't lock when extended.It stays put by pressure against the floor.That works until you lift it up and the bottom half slides out onto the floor.Maybe mine is broken?Not sure.Secondly, I haven't had great success with it picking up dog hair.Maybe my floors are cleaner than I think.Lastly, I read somewhere that it can be used as a pile rake for carpet.I found this to be far from the truth.It just bounces along the top of the carpet doing nothing to the pile.

Review of Oxo Good Grips Red Bag Clips, Set of 2

I couldn't get a good look from Amazon's provided image, so I expected the clips to be kinda flimsy, cheap, crackly, chintzy plastic.

They are not at all! The clips are a really solid, great-feeling matte plastic, and the red color looks terrific. They are not shiny, so they do not look cheap. They grip very well and have handy and good-looking rubbery components at the grip and handle.

I am very impressed with these clips. They feel good to use, they look excellent, and the size is perfect for medium to large bags of snacks.

I am currently using 1 for a big bag of tortilla chips, and another is on a big bag of opened dry cat food. I ordered another set after this first 2-pack arrived, as I'm sure they'll always come in handy. Highly recommended!

This knife bar looks very good, but it seems to not have magnets distributed evenly. The result of this is that if you put knives on in certain places, they will spinto get closer to the magnets. Large knives like carving, bread, and santoku, are much worse for this than smaller paring knives. It is very difficult to find a place on the bar that the large knives will sit still.This does not occur on bars that have magnetic strips running the entire length. We have Shun knives that we keep very sharp, and after having long blades spin on me twice, I took this bar down and tossed it. Back to the metal bar for us.

Also, it was generally cheaply put together, the metal mounting slots were not screwed on properly, so I had to fix that before putting it up, and the lamination is not of the best quality.

This holds a roll of paper towels very effectively. However, the magnets are weak and don't stay on the metal surface as desired. Review of Spoontiques Pet Magnet and Bottle Opener

The product is self explanitory so it really doesn't need a review, but if you want to read the story behind the gift, here it is: Mom had a bottle opener that was magnetic and stuck to the fridge for 30 years. Recently it fell off and broke. Suffice to say, she requested another for Christmas and initially all I could find were sports themed or beer-themed varieties that had magnets attached. After several hours of searching, I finally found this one and it will be perfect for her. The seller, "Gifts from a Distance," shipped this out immediately and I recieved it within 3 days of the original order and also impressed me by how carefully wrapped the item was. In fact the box that it came in will be the box I use to wrap it in because of it's interesting size/shape. As for the product... well... the cat was orange and white as pictured above, the bottle opener works and it sticks to the fridge! What more could one ask for?

This timer is a bit of a gamble as other timers can be had for half the price, but the Klip is a clear step up from bargain products.

For example, the inexpensive timer I owned before this one had a flimsy stand to prop the unit up, as do many others on the market. The Klip on the other hand is cleverly contoured and will stand on its own without a prop. The overall construction is better than most timers and the unit is made from much sturdier plastic.

The Klip is meant to be worn and has a belt clip which can be used to hook the device on a belt or pocket. The vibration and alarm are not particularly loud, which is perfect for my use, but if you need an air-raid type alarm that can be heard next door, it will not work for you.

Since there are dedicated buttons for setting hours, minutes, and seconds, setting the countdown time is easy. Press mode to select the timer, press the appropriate "+/-" buttons to set, then press "play" to start. The timer can be paused by pressing "play" again or reset by holding it down for a couple of seconds. The countdown function also features an elapsed time bar which graphically displays how much time has elapsed.

Holding down the mode and alarm buttons will lock the unit so accidental button presses will not change the program. There are two timers, a clock, and a stopwatch, all of which run independently. The Klip is powered by two AAA batteries and unlike some timers, the alarm can be turned off once it begins to sound.

The only negative observation is that even though the magnet on the back is strong, the Klip will turn to right a little when you stick it to the refrigerator because the batteries cause that end of the unit to weigh more.

The Klip is a discrete, flexible, easy to use, and well-built timer.

.to wish you had a better way of keeping your kitchen scalpels organized.
Seriously, I thought this bar would be just the thing to help me organize my too-small kitchen which is always strewn with knives, bottle openers, spatulae, whisks, and other kitchen implements. I also wanted something to keep my sharp knives away from my hands so that I could reach for things on the counter without worrying about stabbing myself.
This magnetic strip fits the bill perfectly. I was worried at first that it wouldn't be a strong enough magnet to hold my chef's knife, but it is. The knife is held very securely and forms a tight magnetic "seal" that breaks when you twist the knife away from it. If you bump the knife, it just rotates on the magnet - you'd have to be a real klutz to whack it hard enough to knock it off by accident. ...
I was also worried that the metal magnet would nick my knife edges. That's not a problem as long as you're careful how you put the knife on (back edge first).
I recommend this product without any reservations!

Review of Magnetic Knife Bar, 18", Wooden

I use this to hold metal tools in my garage and it works well for that purpose.

Pros:

Nice looking piece of somewhat heavy 7/8" oak.
Good magnetics without being overly strong.

Cons:

The mounting screws provided where 1 1/4" which provide inadequate leverage for the heavy 7/8" oak into
wallboard.Mounting directly into wood would be OK.Iused my own mounting hardware for wallboard.

If you use as a knife holder, the knife blade rests directly on metal bars which some people object to for fear of dinging very sharp blades.

Review of J.A. Henckels 11-1/2-Inch Magna Bar Knife Storage Bar

I ordered this comparatively high-priced magnetic holder specifically because it was 11.5 inches, so would fit on the end of my 12-inch deep cabinet.
When it arrived it was actually almost 12.5 inches, so it sticks out on the end and I can't use it!
Disappointing to pay extra for an item just because it fits, and find out it doesn't. It is made of plastic, too, so there's no excuse for the high price (except maybe the Henckel name, which I don't care about.
The magnets are very strong; a little stronger than I'd like, but maybe some people would like it that way.
