Review of FRIDGE SNOWMAN MAGNET

Here are some signs that it's winter in Maine:

* Snow shovels propped beside the steps
* Warm boots, mittens and hats drying in the entryway
* Sun low in the sky, light unfiltered by foliage
* Ice cream stands closed
* Warm curtains pulled shut before dinner
* No baseball games
* Furnace rumbling in the cellar, gulping black gold
* Smells of woodsmoke and wet wool
* Whoosh-thump of snow sliding off the roof

My California friend Betty Dravis has been getting winter updates from me for two months now. At Christmas Betty saw her daughter's cheerful FRIDGE SNOWMAN MAGNET--and thought of me. She got the product information and sent one to me in Maine. What a cheerful surprise!The pieces are die-cut from sturdy, flexible magnet sheets. Clearing the photos, drawings, reminders and receipts from the fridge took a few minutes and then up he went. It was the quickest snowman I ever built. Thanks so much for the fun present, Betty!

I've named my fridge snowman Prince Yuki, a Japanese name that seems to mean both "snow" and "happiness."He brings a smile to my face every time I glance at him, so there he's going to stay until spring--at least. If winter's got you down, get yourself a fridge snowman and you'll be smiling too.
