This is a hard review. The primary PLUS I suppose is that this item is WONDERFUL for STOPPING HEAT ... and I assume that is the primary reason you buy this.. it is essentially impervious to any heat that you'd normally encounter.. also its nicely lined with a soft and comfortable material, and reaches well up your arm to protect that as well.. how many times have you burned your wrist on the rack or oven side while reaching for a hot item? However it does have it's problems!!
1. The most critical thing is the poor "flex pattern" which makes picking up items and gripping them very awkward. In the least case, I'd order TWO of these if you feel this is the glove you want.. this is so you can use both hands to grip anything you want to pick up.. this is the only way you'll really get much of a grip and be confident that you can move hot items safely to where you're going.
2. This fits poorly. I have largish hands I guess but many men especially will have even larger hands.. the fingers are more than adequate.. they in fact are too long.. 1.5" longer than my fingers.. but it also is very tight around my knuckles (where the fingers join your hand) and even tighter if you try to "grip" something. Though this makes it slightly uncomfortable, the main reason I mention it is that I worry that this MAY eventually pull the seam out..
3. Of lesser issue, but still to be considered is that the material, though tough and rubbery, CAN BE TORN on any jab by a sharp or pointed surface.. and of course once this is done, the glove is pretty much not going to serve it's purpose anymore.
I've looked at other gloves and most have similar or worse problems. I guess we're still just up in the air until someone comes up with the truly functional item.

Let me begin with a positive note on the OXO Good Grips oven mitt:It looks great and the magnet is a good idea. Now for the negative aspects of this item:it's WAY over-priced, especially for how poorly it is designed. The way this oven mitt is designed does not give you a "Good Grip," which is ironic since it's called the "OXO Good Grips" oven mitt.It's hard to explain, but the silicone part is somewhat stiff and when you put your hand in the mitt, you cannot easily grab things, especially if what you're trying to grab is small (like a pan lid) or narrow (like the handles on a roaster pan).It's like this mitt was designed as though the only thing anyone uses an oven mitt for is to take hot cookie sheets out of the oven. I decided not to give it one star ONLY because it does a good job of insulating your hand from high temperatures.I strongly suggest that if you are considering purchasing this OXO mitt, you should go to a store and try it on first to see what you think about the design.
This is a fun little kitchen timer!Just make sure you get one that's reliable and works properly and you're good to go. Has a nice, loud bell. You can hear it in the next room unless you have your music blasting or your vacuum cleaner on.
These oven mitts are every bit as good as I would expect from OXO. I have large hands and the mitts are a bit snug but comfortable.
You'd have a much easier time selling this thing to book geeks like me if YOU SPELLED THE AUTHOR'S NAME RIGHT.
I own this mitt and I have been very pleased with it.I got it six months ago, and it has held up excellently through washings and rough treatment!I have not once been burned through it, and it is easy to use even when wet.The little hanger that is attached to it has also not broken, which is unusual for my pot holders-- we cook a lot and they get constant use and abuse.
A flexible silicone pot holder! Yes, yes I have to buy another to have a complete set.Expect a long wait this almost a 15 day wait. Yes Yes I own many pot holders cloth and silcone. but these pot holders I actually look for!They combine the best of both worlds; The heat resistance of silicone with the flexiblity of cloth.And Yes this is not clumsy to use! Your gonna love the the ease, the flexibility and the heat resistance.
This is a really strong magnet!I love the coke bottle.When you turn the bottle it looks like the coke is moving.It is a great bottle opener!
This is a very nice potholder. I like the large size, the pocket to place my hand inside, the handy magnet which lets me hang it on the fridge. It insulates me from heat very well. 
AT LAST I have found a timer that works!This one is small, very attractive and sticks to my stove hood where it is handy to use.I don't even have to remove it from the hood to set it. It keeps time accurately and has a LOUD ring which I can hear in the living room.I had to return another timer that didn't work properly but I'll be keeping this one!
When I ordered this timer, it was initially back ordered.I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived within just a few days.
This timer has the added feature of being magnetic. We stuck to the fridge. The base is metal and the cover is clear plastic. It has a large enough dial to view the time left.The bell is loud enough to hear in another room.This is an low tech old school product that gets the job done.
